I passed the 225 pounds milestone this week.

It’s been a long uphill slog since I got serious about losing weight in early March 2015 when I was 250 pounds. Twenty five point eight pounds later, I feel pretty good. Last week was a turning point where I gave up sugary drinks like sweet tea and Coke and started drinking more water. I still crave sugary drinks but I’m finding I can mostly tolerate their absence. I’ll cheat a couple times a week just to keep myself sane.
I promised myself I’d return to Jiu-Jitsu at the 225 pound mark so I’ll dust off my Gi after this post and plan to make the 7 oclock BJJ Fundamentals class at Team Tooke tonight. I’ve been doing bodyweight squats for a couple weeks to prepare myself for repeatedly clamboring back up off the mat. We’ll see how my wind holds up through a two hour class.
