My elbows continue to be a source of irritation.  I think they are getting better with rest but once I’m fully back, I will probably avoid high rep sets as that seems to coincide with the onset.  I’m still doing my kettlebell squats.  They don’t really involve elbow extension so I can complete the full movement without pain.  I get a stretch, a pump, and a little bit of a blow from that workout.

I’m skipping overhead press and bench press for now leaving me with just a partial workout with squat and either deadlift or bent over row.  It hasn’t been enough to prompt additional weight loss or decrease in waist size.

I hope to get fully back into things soon and to see some forward progress on the metrics I’m tracking.  This part is a little like the accumulation phase of investing for early retirement.  There are sometimes long stretches where it seems like you are putting forth effort for nothing.  It can be discouraging but you have to stick with the program.  It is a marathon and not a sprint!

I overdid it at lunch.  Dad and I had mexican food.  It was delicious and I ate the whole thing plus chips and a little complimentary dessert fried pastry they brought.  Should have brought half home but I’m a sucker for good food.  Thus why I need a workout program and a “most of the time” diet to make any progress on weight and waist-line.  Hey, I’m just a normal guy (Lizard) like the rest of you!

    Did you discontinue this series? I hope not! You got me to switch to the 5×5 series about 18 months ago. I had a ton of success early on but have since slowed way down, gone backwards actually. Squats were killing my knees. Bad form. I’m still making small changes.

    I was putting in personal records for every lift for a while as well and taking extra time between each set. I don’t have time for 1.5 hour workouts at the moment, so pulling back helped here a ton as well. Love your attitude about it. This is a marathon and not a sprint. Just keep at it. Hope you’re still plugging away as well!

      I felt like I was repeating myself. And I really want to do at least for a time a series on side hustles which is more in line with the point of the blog. Thanks for reading though. Kick arse in the gym bro-dawg.
